The Hue/Saturation filter is created for adjusting the hue and saturation of a video clip. It is helpful, for example, when a video clip was captured with too little saturation, and there is a need to increase it.

The Hue filter lets you adjust the hue of the entire image. Adjusting the hue, or color, represents a move around the color wheel. Hue is the color reflected from or transmitted through an object. It is measured as a location on the standard color wheel. A positive value indicates clockwise rotation, a negative value counter clockwise rotation. Values can range from -180 to +180.

The Saturation filter, sometimes called chroma, is the strength or purity of the color. Saturation represents the amount of gray in proportion to the hue. Values can range from -100 (percentage of desaturation, duller colors) to +100 (percentage of saturation increase). On the standard color wheel, saturation increases from the center to the edge. The Saturation filter lets you adjust the saturation of the entire image.

To apply the filter:

Select the Filters tab:

Double click the filter's icon:

Click the filter's icon, drag and drop it into the Preview box.

To adjust the filter settings:

Select the filter's name in the Applied filters box.

For Hue, enter a value or drag the slider in the filter menu window until the colors appear as you want. For Saturation, enter a value or drag the slider to the right to increase the saturation or to the left to decrease it. To return to the default values, click Defaults.
