Movavi VideoSuite :: Edit Video :: Working :: Opening Files

In Edit Video mode, you can open files using the Open command, Open button and the Recent Files list.

To open a file:

  1. Choose File > Open or click in the toolbar.
If you wish to open a recently used file (a file you have already worked with), just select its name from the Recent File list. Choose File > Name_of_the_file.

Note: 10 last opened files are displayed in the Recent Files list.

  2. Select the name of the file you want to open. If the file does not appear, select the option for showing all formats or all files from the Files of Type pop-up menu.
Files of the following formats can be opened: AVI Movie(*.avi), MPEG Movie (*.mpeg, *.mpg), MPEG4 Movie (*.mp4, m4p), DVD (*.VOB, *.IFO), CD Video(*.dat) 3GPP Movie, 3GPP2 Movie, Windows Media Movie (*.wmv, *.asf) and Quick Time Movie (*.mov, *.qt), Real Media Video (*.rm).
  3. Click Open.
Important: If the file does not open, then the chosen format does not match the file's true format, or the file may be corrupted.

Note: depending on the file's size, it may take up to several minutes to open it.

Once a file is opened, its name appears in the window's title and its first frame is displayed in the Preview area.
