Movavi VideoSuite :: Edit Video :: Working :: Saving Files

In Movavi VideoSuite, you can save your video as an MPEG, WMV or AVI file.

To save a file:
1. Select File > Save as... or click SAVE button:

Alternatively, you can press CTRL-S on your keyboard.

2. In the appeared dialog, select a folder, where you want to save the file, type a filename and choose the file's format. Check Overwrite an Existing File if you want to delete an existing file and record a new one with the same name.

3. Click Next.

Depending on the selected file format, you will be prompted to specify the format settings.

If you have chosen AVI:

  • Specify a video codec to compress your file with. The drop-down menu shows the codecs correctly installed on your computer. You can download more codecs at Movavi VideoSuite website. For some codecs, you can specify its options (such as compression quality, bitrate mode and others) by clicking Options. If you choose Full Uncompressed, no codec will be used. This option provides best quality but largest file size.
  • If needed, enter new values for Width and Height of your video. The dimensions are in pixels. Check Link of width and weight to constrain the proportions. Check Biquadratic approximation resizing for more precize resizing method, resulting in the better picture quality.
  • If needed, enter a new value for Frames per Second. Larger values produce "softer" videos but require more system resources.
  • Specify settings for the audio stream. Choose Audio format, frequency and Channels (Mono or Stereo).
Best audio quality (in terms of file size/quality) can be achieved by selecting MP3 320 Kbit, 44100 kHz, Stereo.

    Click Next.

    If you have chosen MPEG:

  • Specify a type of MPEG compression to use: MPEG1 or MPEG2.
  • Specify the Bitrate. The larger values produce higher quality.
  • Check Include a Sound to record an audio stream into the file. Choose Audio format, frequency and Channels (Mono or Stereo). The larger values provide better quality.

    Click Next.

    If you have chosen WMV:

  • Select a profile that suits your needs. For example, if you save your video for playback on a Pocket PC, select WMV9 for Pocket PC; best quality is WMV9 for Local Network.
  • Check Biquadratic approximation resizing for more precize resizing method, resulting in the better picture quality.

    Click Next.

Movavi VideoSuite will start writing the new file, showing elapsed and remained time. Select the Show output video checkbox to watch your video while saving. This may slow down the saving process.

Press Back to return to the previous dialog or Cancel to abort saving process and return to the main window.

After Movavi VideoSuite completes the saving process, you can check Play movie to playback the new file when you click Finish. Uncheck this option if you don't want it.

Click Finish. You have successfully edited and saved your video file.
