Movavi VideoSuite :: Capture Video :: Quick Start |
This section describes simple steps to transfer video from your DV camera to your computer. This process is also called "capturing" or "importing." Movavi VideoSuite supports direct video capture via FireWire/i.Link (IEEE 1394)
1. Turn on your camcorder.
2. Connect your camcorder to your computer using a FireWire cable.
3. Start the Capture Video module of Movavi VideoSuite.
4. In the Capture Folder box define the folder where to save captured video.

5. Learn the info in the Disc space requirements area. Make sure that there is enough free disc space on your computer.

6. In the File Name box type the name of the file.

7. Use the Controls buttons to rewind footage on your camcorder to the point from where to start capturing.

8. Click Play to preview video.
9. When you see the frame where you want to begin capturing, click Start Capture.
10. Click Stop Capturing when you want to stop capturing.
The video fragment will be saved in the specified folder under the defined name in the DVAVI format.
You can capture as many video fragments as you need. Capture Video automatically renames video files adding numbers to the existing name.
