The Grayscale effect converts an original image to a grayscale (black and white) one. It is an interesting effect to simulate old movies (especially when combined with the Add Noise effect).

To apply the effect:
Select the Effects tab:
Double click the icon of the effect:
OR
Retaining the icon of the effect, drag and drop it into the Preview area.
To adjust the effect settings:
Select the effect's name in the Applied filters box.
In the filter settings pane, check Desaturate to keep the lightness value of each pixel.
To return to the default values, click Defaults.
