Movavi VideoSuite :: Edit Video :: Working :: Saving Files

In Movavi VideoSuite, you can save your video as an MPEG, WMV or AVI file.

To save a file:
1. Select File > Save as... or click the SAVE button:

Alternatively, you can press CTRL-S on your keyboard.

2. In the dialog window, select a folder where you want to save your file, type a filename and choose a file format. Check the Overwrite an Existing File box if you want to delete an existing file and save a new one with the same name.

3. Click Next.

Depending on the selected file format, you will be prompted to specify this format settings.

If you have chosen AVI:

  • Specify a video codec with which to compress your file. The drop-down menu shows the codecs correctly installed on your computer. You can download more codecs at Movavi VideoSuite website. For some codecs, you can specify their options (such as compression quality, bitrate mode and others) by clicking Options. If you choose Full Uncompressed, no codec will be used. This option provides the best quality but largest file size.
  • If needed, enter new values for Width and Height of your video. The dimensions are in pixels. Check Link of width and height to keep to proportions.
  • If needed, enter a new value for Frames per Second. Larger values produce "softer" videos but require more system resources.
  • Specify settings for the Audio stream. Choose Audio format, Frequency and Channels (Mono or Stereo).
The best audio quality (in terms of file size/quality) can be achieved by selecting MP3 320 Kbit, 44100 kHz, Stereo.

    Click Next.

    If you have chosen MPEG:

  • Specify a type of MPEG compression to use: MPEG1 or MPEG2.
  • Specify Bitrate. The larger values produce higher quality.
  • If needed, enter new values for the Width and Height of your video. The dimensions are in pixels.
  • If needed, enter a new value for Frames per Second. Larger values produce "softer" videos but require more system resources.
  • Check Include a Sound to record video with an audio stream. Choose Audio format, Frequency and Channels (Mono or Stereo). The larger values provide better quality.

    Click Next.

    If you have chosen WMV:

Select a profile that suits your needs. For example, if you save your video for playback on a Pocket PC, select WMV9 for Pocket PC; WMV9 for Local Network provides the best quality.

    Click Next.

Movavi VideoSuite will start writing the new file, showing elapsed and remained time. Select the Show output video checkbox to watch your video while saving. Mind that this may slow down saving.

Press Back to return to the previous dialog or Cancel to abort saving and return to the main window.

After Movavi VideoSuite has completed saving, you can check Play movie to playback your newly created file upon clicking the Finish button.

Click Finish. You have successfully edited and saved your video file.
