The Timeline panel is a "working area" of the Movie Editor module that allows you to edit added video, lay audio tracks over it and add text titles to be displayed on the video at the playback.

The Timeline panel contains 4 editing tracks:

• Titles track contains balloons of text messages to be displayed over the video at a specific period of playback.
• Video track contains the frame-by-frame representation of a video clip added for editing.
• Audio tracks contain balloons of audio tracks laid over your video. Beside the main audio track, you can lay an additional audio track over the video to enrich your video project, for example, by a voiceover.

To add media files to the Timeline panel, drag them from the Media pane. To add a text message, click the button on the right of the Preview area — the text balloon will be added to the titles track.

NOTE: The Movie Editor module allows you to drag media files between tracks - for example, you can drag a video track to any of the audio tracks to extract audio from your video or move the titles balloon to the Video track to create opening or closing titles at a black background of your video.
