Fading audio
In the editing tools, you can add smooth fades to the beginning or the end of a clip and create a crossfade effect between audio tracks. The Fade in setting controls how long in seconds it will take to go from silence to full volume at the beginning of the clip. The Fade out setting controls how long in seconds it will take to go from full volume to silence at the end of the clip.
Set up the fading effect

Select the clip on the Timeline.

Click the Audio Properties button on the toolbar.

Set the fade length using the sliders on the Clip Properties panel.
